HAMILTON — The Miami University Hamilton softball team captured the Ohio Regional Campus Conference regular season title on Sunday, April 29.
The Harriers took two games from OU Chillicothe with a 5-3 victory in the first game and an 8-0 victory in the second.
“They’ve played hard, and they’re learning to play hard as a team,” Miami Hamilton coach Lucy Manley said. “It’s been a challenge this year because we only had two returners from last season. So it was like starting all over. The girls have come together as a team.
“They’ve really deserved this,” Manley added. “I’m really proud of them.”
The Harriers moved to 16-6 overall and 9-1 in the ORCC. Miami Hamilton plays in the ORCC tournament next weekend in Lancaster.
Brittany Fernandez pitched both games and moved her record to 11-2 on the season.
Kelly Hardison went 3-for-4 and had two RBIs in the first game, while Ellen Boreing went 2-for-3.
Amanda Proctor went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs in the nightcap. Fernandez doubled and had two RBIs.
